Can you believe that it will officially be 2021 on Friday!? I cannot even begin to digest how quickly & yet slowly 2020 has gone by. Covid struck us hard. Working from home became the new norm and honestly that’s another reason why I decided not to make any New Year Resolutions. I don’t want to stress out if I don’t accomplish them and think little of myself.

I want to go into 2021 with a better mentality of life and slowly get back to my love for creating content. I want to feel the happiness I used to feel when I first started. I have that feeling now when I am creating content for my YouTube channel.

I honestly think my 2021 will be more YouTube focused. I want to get better at creating content on different platforms. I hope that everyone has a Happy New Year and don’t be pressured when you don’t make any resolutions for the upcoming year.

Also, I will REALLY buckle down on writing more for the blog.

As 2020 is officially coming to an end. There have been a lot of things that I have learned especially during a pandemic. Whilst we have been stuck indoors since February ( remember we are now in December ) we have come to the realization that its okay not to be as put together as people online seem to be. We don’t have to be a magically turn into a professional baker, we don’t have to force ourselves to work out or eat healthy just because you see everyone on social media doing it and we don’t have to force ourselves to be productive. If you want to binge watch 8 seasons of Friends for the 100th time then you have every right to do so! You can literally do whatever will make you happy and whatever will keep you sane in this fucked up world.

We’re STILL in the middle of a pandemic. Hard to believe right? Then why are we still acting like we are not?

It’s okay to not talk to anyone. It’s okay to cut people who don’t share your view points on certain things to the curb. That racist family member who you’ve been biting your tongue around? Kick them to the curb. It is perfectly okay and trust me when I say you will be so much happier when you do.

I have also learned that I am such a caring person but I am also kinda tired of always being the one reaching out to people to see if they are doing well. Honestly it gets kinda tiring. It also makes you think. Does anyone like me? Why doesn’t anyone reach out to me to see how I am doing but I have decided to stop that mental thinking.

I honestly think I am over living in the DMV area. I want a fresh start with new faces and a new mindset. I want a bigger space that I am able to create freely in & I want to wake up every morning with a smile on my face. I am determined to start living the life that I want and first is up is doing some special for my birthday!

WE’RE STILL UNDER QUARANTINE!

Deep down I wish that things would start going back to normal but alas that isn’t the case. Right now were finally hitting our second wave and no one is happy. Well, except the people who don’t believe were still in a pandemic of course.

We’re almost halfway through December with no light at the end of the tunnel. I am honestly not even excited for my birthday anymore. I wanted to do a tropical getaway but I think it would be unbelievably selfish of me to lounge on a beach when were still in the middle of a pandemic.

I am thinking about maybe taking a week trip to Chicago just to be a tourist. At least it will still be stateside and I wouldn’t have to quarantine for 14 days before being able to enjoy my trip. Of course I will get a COVID test done before doing any sort of traveling. Actually I have been getting tested every 72 hours for work and even though I hate getting tested with a passion. It’s good to know that I have always had a negative result.

I wish I was able to really travel and see my family to see how they are doing during all of this but I am happy that I am able to either FaceTime them or send them a text checking in on them. I

On another note I have started vlogmas on my YouTube channel which you guys can check out here & please subscribe to my channel. In my videos I show you little snippets of my daily life at home and on set. I haven’t really gone out for coffee ( I did light Christmas shopping ) since we started filming but definitely commend everyone who does vlogmas everyday and every year cause I cannot keep up.

I have included some photos from my camera roll down below. I hope you guys enjoy and see you in my next vlog.

Oh, we are currently blessed with my all-time favorite season. Fall. If you guys have been reading my blog since I think I first started I mentioned quite religiously how Fall ( Autumn ) is my all-time favorite season. I think it's either the Fall foliage, the cool breeze. finally pulling out sweaters etc... I just love it. I will never understand everyone's obsession with PSL ( pumpkin spice latte ) anything.

I wanted to share some new things that have blessed my wardrobe for the upcoming Autumn/Winter seasons. These are affiliate links which means I will make a small commission if you guys do decide to shop!

Can you believe that we are already in October? I am not sure why for some odd reason I tend to not blog as much in the Summer because the heat makes me super uncomfortable. I don’t feel motivated to get dressed or do anything especially leave my apartment. I feel miserable walking outside and with COVID still going strong...I have to make do with doing things at home. Which is one of the main reasons why I really wanted to FINALLY do something about my living space since I am going to be living here for another year. Honestly, I am so sick of my apartment. I hate the area and I really wanted to move but I like to visit apartments in person to get a feel for them and since everything being closed for COVID it was hard for me to find a place.

I guess this post will be a bit of a life update as well. So, creatively for a while, I have mentioned that I have been in such a funk lately. I have been super uninspired and my apartment space contributed to that heavily. I mean I have been living here a little over 5 years and only now do I feel the need to really drastically change it up but there is only so much I can do to really make it feel like home for another year.

With that being said. I decided to start by creating a better walk-in wardrobe situation. I have had the same UGLY CHOCOLATE BROWN Shelf Unit for years that I got from Target and I always cringed whenever I walked into my wardrobe and saw it. Not only was it ugly ( I seriously disliked the colour but I needed something ASAP at the time ) but my clothes were falling out everywhere and it always just looked messy. I would always refold the clothing for it not to look right. It was to be blunt and eyesore.

I really wanted to repaint the walls white and get rid of that ugly off white or eggshell whatever colour it is wall because again it has been such an eyesore and I wanted something more bright that made me happy and made my tiny space look bigger. That wasn't the case. Less than a year ago my upstairs neighbour fell asleep with her water running and it started leaking down into my apartment. They came to fix my ceiling but never came to fix the rest like they promised along with cleaning my carpet as well. Let me paint you a picture...the walls that they promised to come back and fixed because of the cracking ( they use really cheap paint ) and well as much as I want to paint my walls white... I cannot unless they come and initially fix the walls they promised to fix.

With no luck in sight getting it fixed I thought about just leaving the issue and just working around it. Which was probably the best idea in the end. So, I decided to start with my wardrobe. I got rid of the shelf, visited Ikea, and got to work! I purchased an Ikea Dresser called Malm ( which you can purchase here ), tons of photo frames for my Desenio posters that I ordered, a new clothing wardrobe for my most worn clothing...etc. You catch the drift. Now came the important part as I was planning out everything I was going to get. Colour scheme. I have always been fond of white furniture...I mean my desk is white, my monitor is white ( well white & silver ) and well since the original colour of the Malm Dresser I wanted was sold out I ended up opting for the last one they had in stock which was White. That just meant all of my frames for my Desenio posters had to match as well but I did find the perfect Bamboo Wardrobe ( which you guys will see in the photos below ) the original one I wanted from Ikea was sold out until another 2 months and I just didn't have the patience to wait another 2 months for it and after sitting there and debating...the price was just way too much for what I was going for.

I feel like maybe if I moved into a bigger space with 2 bedrooms I would come back & contemplate it ( you can see my original choice here ). In the end, I am happy with my second decision. Literally, the same style just doesn't have the sliding bamboo door which I really don't mind at all. I will try my best to link everything that I purchased from Ikea, Amazon, Target etc. I know that everyone is trying their best to make their homes feel more homie, especially during these tough times.

So far I am loving the way that everything is slowly coming together and honestly adding these beautiful pieces from Desenio just makes my home feel much more lovely. I really feel like every corner of my tiny studio apartment can be just beautiful if I stick with my vision.

I am thinking about doing an apartment tour once I get it to how I really want it. I am hoping that I am able to paint the walls white and maybe add more shelves on the wall to create more space. Get a new TV stand with built-in storage so that. I can really utilize the space better. I am just really excited for you guys to see everything once it comes together.

Wow! I got such an overwhelming amount of readership from the last “Beauty Tuesday’s” post that I am super thankful that you guys appreciate me bringing it back on the blog. In this post we are going to be reviewing another product by Mamonde!

* Wash away pollution! Mamonde’s Micro Deep Cleansing Foam is lightweight, mild and powered with self-purifying Lotus Flower Extract that washes away 98.8% of pore-clogging dirt, dust and excess residue. *

One of the biggest things that caught my attention was the fact that this product is Vegan!

I actually just recently started using this product & I can definitely love this product. It is not heavy and it does leave my skin feeling extremely clean. I like the fact that it is lightweight as well. I hate products that feel overly heavy on your skin & even when you rinse your face off you can still feel the product residue on your face.

I use this product alongside the Mamonde Micro Deep Cleansing Oil which I will be reviewing separately. Just because I like 1 product from the collection doesn’t necessarily mean that I will like all.

Plus recently, I added a new product into my regime and I had a crazy reaction so I need to retrace my steps to see which product caused the allergic reaction on my cheeks.

I recommend this product to anyone who needs that extra feeling of clean especially during the Summer!

See you next Tuesday! Stay safe and wear your masks!

COVID has definitely put things in perspective for me. I have been self-quarantining since the outbreak hit the states, only leaving my apartment to visit the grocery store and get tested to make sure that I was in the clear. I had the opportunity to visit Georgetown to do a little bit of shopping & I was blown away by how different things were. All the steps that the shops have taken to make sure everyone practiced social distancing even whilst shopping blew me away. I didn't want to overdo it with how many stores I was visiting so I settled on visiting Free People, Aritza, CB2, and my all-time favorite District Doughnut!

From Free People I have been eying this amazing Teddy Coat ( you can shop it here ) for the past couple of months and when I finally came across it on sale in Free People! I knew right then & there that I needed to have it asap! So glad that I did now I can finally close the tab I have open on my laptop! The next shop that I decided to visit was Aritzia where I stocked up on my favorite basic white tee ( you can shop it here ) and of course their 100% linen masks ( which you can shop here & here ).

I was also in a DIRE need of some new wine glasses and I have always been slight if not HIGHLY obsessed with their wine glasses ever since I came across them on Instagram. I love going into CB2. It's so aesthetically pleasing & I love their items but it is way out of my price point but I just HAD to have 2 of their glasses. You guys can see which glasses I picked & their price point here.

Overall, I would say that my experience wasn't bad. I actually enjoyed it. I loved seeing everyone wearing their masks and practicing social distancing and the stores following along & making sure everyone was following the rules they set in place. I might be all shopped out for now but maybe I will go again in the near future.

You guys can also shop my entire outfit ( I make a small commission ) down below as well!

*An oil foam formula Ford quick and easy cleansing. Gently dissolves makeup with oil then forms a creamy foam with water.*

Wow has it been almost a whole year since my last “Beauty Tuesday’s” post? I think the last one I wrote was about the ‘YSL Libre’ which I still own & still love to this day. If you guys are interested in reading that post then you can read it here

With everyone still under quarantine and the number of cases has gone up in the states. My beauty regime has definitely seen some changes. One being adding this Mamonde into my everyday lineup. It's very light ( can be used to remove makeup ) and it smells divine. It's not heavily fragranced which is definitely always a plus in my book because I have realized that products with heavy fragrances have a tendency of making my skin breakout.

I have been using this Oil to Foam for about 2 months now & I highly recommend it. I am actually aiming to try the whole "Rose" line from Mamonde.

See you next Tuesday for another review. Please stay safe & wear your masks!

One thing I definitely say a lot...every year when it comes around but I absolutely HATE Summer. I hate feeling hot, sweating you name it. Being in quarantine makes you miss everything you took for granted. Like just going out to the Wharf to hangout. Well, that is exactly what we did. It was nice getting out of the house even if it was 88 degrees of pure humidity. It was so hot & wearing the mask it made it 10x harder to breathe. It was worth it though. I got to eat delicious food, enjoy being out of the house, and enjoy amazing ice cream from a black-owned business! They will literally be taking ALL of my money from here on in whenever I visit the Wharf.

I have also recorded a vlog of it which I hope you guys will enjoy & subscribe to my channel!
