Seeing bloggers only blogging to gain followers with shit content and brands wanting to work with them for that brought me down a little. When did blogging become about that? Aside from that, I just didn't feel like blogging. I felt like I was turning into someone I wasn't and I really just needed a break to re-find myself in order to gain back the motivation that I lost. The year had just started but I was already stressed out. I was feeling overwhelmed trying to come up with new content for you guys.
So, the majority of you wondered how I overcame my blogging block. I was going to say writer's block, but I do a lot of writing on the side. Here are some things that I did to kick that blogging block to the curb.
1. Take a nap. This was a little hard for me with my work schedule, so I would sleep for hours at first, but then I started setting alarms for about 30 minutes, which helped me to feel refreshed.
2. Go outside. I know the weather has been super effing bipolar lately, so one day it's beautiful outside and the next it's freezing and you need a winter coat. Fresh air clears your head and gets you away from your computer.
3. Listen to music. I am a sucker for Spotify. I have so many playlists that help me stay focused and write about three to four posts in one sitting.
4. Coffee Break. Man, I crash so hard after having a cup of coffee it's ridiculous. I have been drinking hot chocolate lately and making myself lots of delicious smoothies at home to save money.
5. Take a step back to organize and just take on your tasks after some much needed rest.
Hopefully this was helpful for you guys and I hope it gave you guys some insight into where I was coming from.
