Are Blogs Slowly Dying?

Before Instagram became as big as it is now...there was a time where everyone would turn to blogging for their course of inspiration. A peak into the lives of that person, what . they were wearing and what they were thinking. What inspired them to do the things they did etc.. you guys get where I am going with this. I am not sure when I first started neglecting my blog and putting all my of my focus towards Instagram because let me perfectly clear right now...Instagram is where I get majority of my business. It's where I work with brands and 8/10 times the brands don't require any blog work & just want something short and sweet to be posted on Instagram or Instagram stories.

This isn't the case for everyone though. There is a couple blogs I read all the time for inspiration and some of the others I turned to for inspiration or to just get a peek into their lives have all together forgotten that their blogs existed in the first place. Which is sad but I understand how it happens. You spend so much time and effort building up your presence on Instagram that your blog takes a seat on the back burner....only slowly to be forgotten or taken off the deep dark web a month later. You are paying for space on the internet for your website to be...what is the point dishing out money every year to keep your domain name and monthly if you are going through a hosting website...to keep your website online?

I am 1000% guilty of forgetting to write anything on my blog. I have about a million drafts saves but for some odd reason I never hit publish! Why? My blog was how I started in the first place and this is a space where I can be free with my words without having to add anything "sponsored" or "ad" unless I am working with a brand. There are so many new rules and regulations floating around on Instagram that sometimes I want to take a step back and think is this really want I want? Do I want to be lost in a sea of sponsored content?

That's why I have decided to go back to posting regularly on the blog. Whether it is a short...what's on my mind, a quick what I am wearing and of course I will forever be talking about new coffee shops that are popping up around DC. I want to talk about my travels, my inner demons ( yes I have them to ) and just whatever is on my mind. I want to go back to where my words mattered I felt as ease writing everything down. I want to share my current obsessions and what are making me happy right at the moment. So, I just want to say thank you to everyone who still reads my blog. I am making a comeback!
