Wow, I cannot believe that this year is almost over. I am currently sitting at home watching " Living Single " with Queen Latifah and I decided that this post was something that needed to be written down. This year has definitely been a year filled with ups and downs but I was able to get through it all. I did stumble a bit, I took some time off blogging and I even took a small break from Instagram because I wanted to get my life together. Social media definitely changed even more this year and I can honestly say that so many doors have opened for me.

SOCIAL MEDIA?

I will be nothing but authentic when it comes to my Social Media and my blog!

Around the middle of the year I was obsessing over numbers and forgetting why I started blogging and posting on Instagram in the first place. I even contemplated quitting blogging because everything was changing and I was at a standstill.

But I just needed to remember why I started in the first place and make a massive change.

One thing that I want to say that does get on my ever loving nerve would be:

* Give Credit when Credit is due

* Say thank you

* Ask nicely

* Don't be pushy

I dislike when you help someone and you don't even get the credit you deserve for helping them create their content. It bothers me when I go out of my way for someone and it's not reciprocated.

FRIENDS?

This is somewhat a touchy subject for me.

This year has been a test for me. I definitely cut a lot people out of my life this year.

Why?

Because I didn't want to be around people who only had me in their lives because they needed things from me. I put my foot down and decided that I wasn't going to let ANYONE take advantage of me anymore. In the beginning of the year..I lost my voice but now I have gotten it back. I refuse to hide my voice when something bothers me and I also tell it like it is.

I hate it if I voice whatever bothers me I am deemed mean or rude but fuck it...If you don't like it then tough luck.

I am going to be living for me and no one else. I am leaving all the negative thoughts that I had right here in 2017 & the fake friends as well!

I will not be taking it into the New Year.

FAMILY?

My family is an emotional bunch.

We yell, we curse, we fight, more cursing, we laugh, more cursing, we eat & curse some more. Yeah, we curse a lot but not really around my Mum. My siblings and I ( I have 4 siblings ) on the other hand...we have a group chat and we just insult each other.

We are in the process of trying to convince our Mother to get an iPhone. A battle that I have been failing for practically the whole year. If anyone can give me any pointers on how to convince her then please let me know!

Even though we fight and we get on each others nerve...I do love my crazy ass family.

Overall my year was crazy but it has made me into the woman I am right now as I am typing this.

PS: I still cannot get over the fact that I worked with Taye Diggs, Worked on Chris Brown's Fashion Line during Crystal Couture and countless photoshoots! It's still surreal!

Time to bring in the New Year with a bang!!!

I’ts Tuesday! So, you guys already know what that means! Time for another Beauty Tuesdays post! I have had the chance to work with a lovely brand bamed “ Kopari “ but as you all know by now all opinions are my own & you know I keep it 100 with you guys!

First item that I want to talk about and review for you guys would be the “ Coconut Melt “. It is organic coconut oil that can be used in your hair, on your skin...you name it!

Pros:

My skin is moisturized and the smell isn’t overpowering. It’s light & that is always a plus in my book. This is so perfect since itms currently winter & my skin dries out super fast! I mix a bit of the coconut oil with my cocoa butter for baby soft skin.

Cons:

Because I suffer from an overly sensative scalp. Which by the way it was never like this before. It happened when I received my last ‘ relaxer ‘ and after that my scalp has never been the same. I did try this out as a mask & definitely regretted it right after I rinsed my hair. I had a terrible reaction so I decided that maybe using it on my scalp isn’t the best option for me right now.

Another con would be the price. If I was to venture into Sephora and came across this product. I probably wouldn’t spend $40 on it. I feel like that would be the only downfall. If you love this product & you have the money then all means I recommend this product! But if you are on a budget then I wouldn’t recommend this!

Next product would be the “ Coconut Crush Scrub “.

Pros:

This is by far the best body scrub I have ever used! Just like the Coconut Melt this Scrub smells divine. You apply it before on dry skin then rinse it off & shower as usual. When I first used this product....my skin was glowing & it felt great! It just felt like the troubles from the day was washed away.

Cons:

There is none! This is something I would definitely invest in regardless of the price.

Last product on the list would be the  “ Coconut Kiss Kit “. I got shades Mai Thai, Hibiskiss & Pinkini.

So, I swatched these on my wrist at first and I wasn’t 100% covinced whether or not I would like the shades on my actual lips. Pinkini wasn’t my cuppa tea because I prefere darker shades & this one was a little too bright on me.

Then came Mai Thai. I actually blended it with a matte lipstick 2 shades a bit darker and I loved it! It wasn’t as bad & I knew I could have made it work! A keeper!

Last would be Hibiskiss. This is the only shade that I wore alone but dabbed so it wasn’t shiny.

Overall, I give this brand a 8/10!

Keeping up with trends can be kind of hard. The constant money being spent is annoying and sometimes half of the time it's not really worth keeping with the trends. Besides, fashion comes back around all the time so you are better off putting all of your trendy items away in storage and waiting until they come back in style. I wish that this was something I did because literally everything I donated in the past year has come back around full throttle and I am here like '

OMG WHY!?

I had a beautiful Checkered Coat that I got from Forever 21 and because le boyfriend didn't like it he made me get rid of it. I know it'e being put to use by another woman or child who needed it so I am not really upset about that. It was mainly just an example.

I also had tons of Cabbie Hats , Berets etc and I got rid of them all because I thought they would NEVER come back in style! I wore them often during my first year in college and I loved them. Alas, I did outgrow them and I decided to give them to goodwill BUT now they are back and I am full of regrets! I don't want to buy a new one but man oh man are they tempting me.

Although, for this Checkered Blazer it was a done deal. Not only is it super cute, it's pretty thick as well. I didn't want to dish out $60 for it so I did what I normally do when I want something. I wait and I was happy that I did! Because I got this beauty for a whopping $30! That is HALF of the regular price! I contemplating waiting a bit longer to snag it but my size was the first to go. I did size up because I wanted it to be a little bigger so I could wear sweaters and hoodies underneath.

Overall, I think that this is the perfect investment/staple piece for your wardrobe. This is one item that will be around forever! Get on that! I have linked a few down below! Shop till you lovelies drop!

If I am not able to write another post before Christmas then I will just say Merry Christmas and spend it with your families and loved ones!

Hi Lovelies!

Sorry it's been awhile since I wrote anything since the African American Museum but I wanted to bring you guys another ' Beauty Tuesdays ' post since I definitely missed writing one last week but that wasn't going to stop me from bringing you guys one this week!

With that being said I wanted to share a new product with you guys that I honestly finished rather quickly & I am dying to get my hands on another one.

Maple HOLISTIC Botanical therapy Shampoo

I will be doing the Pro's and the Con's with this shampoo. As you guys I like to keep things 100% honest with you! So, with that being said let jump right into the Cons first.

Cons: This Shampoo is Highly Concentrated! So, it literally stripped the color out of my hair. I currently have Faux Locs in my hair and I really needed to give my scalp a nice wash but I woke up with a blue t-shirt. Cause my hair was blue black now it's like a blonde, green & blue mixture. Let me just say that I hate it. I didn't realize that it was THAT concentrated so that is something I have to keep in mind next time. Although I am slowly trimming off the bleached ends so that I have beautiful healthy hair.

Another Con would be that it's a really small bottle so ration out how much you use because you will finish the bottle rather quickly. It's about 8 oz. and I was so sad when I finished the bottle.

& Now for the Pro's!

Pros: My scalp felt & looked amazing. I was literally in tears when I finished the bottle. I felt like my whole world just went up in flames. I know that I am being a little dramatic but hey you know when you find that product that just makes you feel & look amazing!? You would be in tears too.

It's like a treatment for your scalp. After you lather the product you leave it sit on your scalp for about 2-3 minutes then rinse out. Like I mentioned above.....please be careful how you ration out your portions. Make it last.

Another Pro would be the price! This shampoo is EXTREMELY affordable. Actually if you guys visit their website ( click here ) everything on there won't break the bank. Very good for women with natural hair as well.  If you guys want to shop this shampoo directly then you can click here

Are you guys ready for another Pro?! They actually give away FREE ( you read that correctly ) products! How awesome is that!? You can actually test out which products you want to try before you spend your own money on it.

Basically, what I am saying is that you guys should definitely check them out and definitely show some love! Because I just want you guys to have amazing hair like I do!

As I am sitting down writing this I could an army of emotions washing over me. I had the opportunity to visit the " African American Museum " and I could tell you right now it was hard. Seeing the history of our people and what we have been through and how much we have accomplished. I was so emotional just reading the history of how we came to be as a race. Let me just state that I wasn't able to see the entire museum because it's SO MASSIVE! We were only able to see the bottom level.

I scored 4 free tickets but I was only able to get Gelila go with me on such short notice. I did give away 2 of the tickets to anyone who wanted to go in but couldn't. I wanted them to experience what I was experiencing.

I am also working on a short vlog about my adventures there as well so that should be up soon as well!

I hope that you guys love the photos as much as I do!

Sorry this post is so short! I really wanted to focus on the photos!
