Happy Monday loves!

After celebrating Mother's Day this weekend and well the weather currently being bipolar. I thought it would be cool to sit down and write out a couple blog posts for you guys. Obviously reviewing coffee shops are back on my radar seeing as though I have actually visited a few new ones. I actually don't have any excuses as to why I don't publish my posts anymore and I have the app on my phone to write on the go if I don't bring my laptop along with me so at this point I really have NO excuses.

I wanted to talk about a new little spot that my love Marj and her hubby Julian told me about! The spot is called Chez Lily Coffee. They were having a promotion for $1 drip coffee and $3.99 for their signature flatbreads ( the cauliflower vegan flatbread was a bit more ) but I definitely had their amazingly delicious Earl Grey Latte which I will definitely be going back for another day and maybe to get even more beautiful interior shots of the spot. Seriously just thinking about the Earl Grey Latte is making my mouth water for another one. ASAP!

I ordered a basic cheese flatbread and even though I felt like it could have been in the oven a little bit longer cause the cheese was a little underdone but overall it wasn't that bad. I will definitely be going back to write a better review and really experience the space without a time limit.

I am currently sitting at my desk writing this & trying to come up with a new flatlay idea for some posts that I need to be working on. Yet, here I am. Lost. Not knowing what to create. I think I am burnt out for ideas and I am in desperate need for a vacation to clear my mind. I feel like once I have a break then everything will be coming back to me full force.

In a way that's how I feel when I go to new Coffee Shop locations. To me each one gives off a certain vibe & I feed off of that vibe.

So, for instance I recently met up with my instababe Nicole. It was so ironically funny how we FIRST met but we decided to meet up ( for the first time after being instagram friends ) and we visited Swings Coffee. Someone actually recommended this place to me because it matched my aesthetic and it did when I visited. The location is small but big enough and where it's located...they most likely have a high turn over rate. So, not alot of people actually buy their coffee and sit. Which isn't bad.

The only thing that I actually disliked was the pricing. I spent over $5 for a Iced Vanilla Soy Latte. They didn't have Caramel but I am pretty sure from the final price...I paid for the Vanilla syrup and I definitely paid extra for Soy Milk. That is one thing that I do not like when I am purchasing coffee. That they are charging you for Soy Milk. Which sucks for people like me who are lactose intolerant.

I think that I will be visiting this Coffee Shop again to take in the whole feel of it. Nicole and I weren't there that long but other than the price...maybe I could look past it because the coffee was actually really good for almost $6. I also want to thank Nicole for letting me use her latte and her phone for this shot.

I am sorry that I haven't been keeping up with my coffee posts. Between travelling to NYC and not being able to go to one ( they offered coffee on set but I don't drink hot coffee ) to flying to San Diego ( my sister made me stay in here apartment the entire time I was there ) then coming back to DC only to be on set again for 3 days. It was a lot to handle and I realised that I was so far behind on creating content for you guys & not to mention all the collaborations that I had piling up to shoot as well. I am pretty sure you guys noticed the increase of flatlays on my Instagram lately. Not that I am complaining but it seems like I was transitioning into only flatlays when that wasn't the case. I just needed to get back into the flow of things. From the lack of sleep from travelling, being on set and just everything that was going on family wise. I was burnt out. I stopped posting on Instagram and on social media for awhile. Which was a much needed break that I KNEW I needed.

Now that I am getting back into the swing of things....I wanted this coffee post to be the 2nd ( I recently wrote a Beauty Tuesdays post that you guys can read here ). I have actually been to this coffee spot numerous times but I haven't been back since I started this segment on the blog.

I recently went back to Emissary with Lilia from Lily-like and it was nice to just sit down and enjoy our coffee and our food. Well after taking our obligatory photos for Instagram that is ( you know how bloggers are for that one shot! ).

I ordered my usual Iced Caramel Soy Latte even though I LOVE & I do mean LOVE their Iced Hot Chocolate. It's basically chocolate milk without all the extra sweetness. I also ordered an Egg Sandwich on a Brioche Bun with an Arugula Salad on the side ( which I didn't eat ).

I think Emissary is one Coffee Spot I will always recommend because they also serve alcohol & who doesn't love a good happy hour after a long day?
