Well this post is severely overdue! I am not going to lie. I actually forgot all about writing this post. I don't even remember if I did a ' May Favourites '. This would be the part where I opened a new tab on my laptop and pulled up my blog to check. Okay, well....I didn't. I am going to apologize in advance for skipping last month but I will talk about some of my favourite things in June.

Before I start I want to say a massive congrats again to my best-friend Sylvia and her husband for welcoming their babygirl into the world. Baby Elli. She is as gorgeous as her strong mama. I cannot wait until she gets a bit older and I will be spamming you guys with photos of her!

I will be booking my ticket to San Diego this upcoming week because well next month is August and I will be flying out again. This time it will be planned unlike my last visit there. Hopefully since majority of my family will be there it wont be as bad. Fingers crossed lol.

I finally hit 12k followers on Instagram! I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has followed me from the beginning until now. I am super thankful that you guys have faith in me. Should I do a massive giveaway for you guys? Let me know.....I feel like I should to be honest.

I know that I neglected my blog a bit. Well I think I mentioned this in a previous post but if I didn't ( my mind has been everywhere lately ) I will mention it again. Most of you guys know that aside from blogging I actually do/work Fashion Shows around the DC/VA area but lately I actually started dipping my toes into Film and Commercials! You guys will be seeing some of the commercials I work on TV soon! Don't worry I will be posting them here on the blog as well so you guys can watch it as well. It is something that I never thought I would be doing. I look at everything I watch completely differently now.

June was a month filled with ups & downs but I have learned a lot from it. I have also gotten used to being alone. It's not ideal but this is something that I am choosing for myself. I want to focus on myself and push myself. Everyday I wake up and I tell myself one thing that I love about myself. It actually works and it just brightens my day immensely. I personally think that this is something you guys should try. I am also going to try and lose the weight I gained from being depressed. I want to get rid of that low part of my life. It is like a constant reminder of the recent low point. Now I smile and I am sincere about it. I am not saying that my depression is 100% gone but I am working on eliminating it all together.

I did do some shopping but I also created a capsule-ish wardrobe which means I got rid of a lot of shit as well. 10 giant garbage bags filled with clothes, shoes and bags. I am not going to lie...it felt great.

I am pretty sure that you guys are tired of me saying over and over how much I hate Summer but I never really talk about some of the reasons why I actually like Summer. I think that I should write a post like this for each season ( I am only saying this because Fall is like right around the corner ).

I don't think water counts as something I like about Summer but man oh man does a girl need much more water in this unbearable heat.

Iced Coffee

I actually drink this in every season. I for the life of me cannot do hot coffee but I do like to take photos of pretty latte arts. You know as long as it's not mine. I am actually on the hunt for a very affordable coffee maker so that I can start making my own delicious coffee at home. That is also a great way to save money as well.

Summer Nights

Okay, I love to walk and one of my favourite things to do is actually walk around the city on Fall and Summer nights. Just listening to music, hanging out with friends and just talking or casually taking in the scenery with that special someone. That's the only thing I like...that and not worrying about all the additional layers.

The Pool

I don't really got to the pool to swim. I actually go to enjoy the view ( at least the ones in California ). I take a book with me or I take a journal and I write. I find it to be super peaceful. I am kinda excited to sit by the pool again when I go to San Diego. As for the pool in my neighborhood. NO! Definitely not. I have actually never been to the pool in my neighborhood and I don't think I ever will until I move.

I love hiking. If hiking could be a legit way to exercise and lose weight or all the weight that I gained then oh my goodness this would be for me. I actually love hiking with my Mum. She pushes me to different heights and I just feel at peace whenever I am done talking to her.

Well there you guys have it. Even though Summer is the worst. There are some great things that come out of it.

We have all been there. Waking up to the annoying sound of your alarm. The constant urge to keep hitting snooze. Groaning because you know that you have to get up and tackle the day. Normally the first thing that I do in the morning ( because I use my phone as an alarm ) is check my phone. This means, responding to text messages, checking my email, social media or whatever app that has a notification next to it. Since I work from home..I skip a morning shower ( all depending on what my day consists of ) make myself a smoothie because it's lighter than actual breakfast and I for some odd reason even to this day still don't eat breakfast. Then after all of that...I begin my day.

Sounds pretty simple right?

Even with a simple morning...I was still unhappy. I didn't have any positive habits. Did you guys know that 40% of our everyday actions are said to be habits. We tend to be what we repeatedly do...so if I wanted to change my life one thing I needed to do was change this habit.

I wanted to share some morning habits that will make my life happier ( not just my mornings ).

1. Unplug

Reaching for my phone is the first thing that I do in the morning. I feel like that already is a big negative. Checking emails and social media first thing in the morning starts my day off with other people and for other people. I want to use my mornings for myself.

So, now my tip is to try not checking my phone first thing in the morning and detaching from technology ( minus music ) for about an hour whilst I attempt to focus on myself.

2. Staying Hydrated

This Summer is brutal and with this heat means that I need to stay hydrated. What I didn't realize was I don't drink enough water throughout the day. Did you guys know that we wake up super dehydrated after a good nights sleep? This could be why my mouth feels like straight up cotton in the mornings.

I have learned that adding lemon to a glass of warm water helps removes toxins from your body that built up overnight. Plus it provides a good source of Vitamin C and supports weight loss which I need right now.

3. Showing Gratitude

This allows me to celebrate the present. I am in dire need of positive emotions and having gratitude balances out my negative ones.

Now before I get out of bed...I give myself a few minutes to smile and practice gratitude. I also say a few positive things about myself as well. They don't have to be anything big just small little moments of gratitude a day is okay.

4. Exercise

This is something that I don't do but I need to get into the habit of doing. Exercise helps the body wake up and by doing so all of your cells become active and ready for the day.

I kinda wanna start doing morning yoga. I normally go for a walk ( to 7-11 ) or play music and dance around whilst cleaning cause you know you burn calories that way as well. It energizes the body and the mind.

5. Breakfast

I am guilty of not eating breakfast at all in the mornings. I always hear how breakfast is the most important meal of the day but I fail every single time. I am going to start eating a light healthy breakfast so I can get a boost of energy and get the body ready for the day.

6. Writing\ Journaling

I write a lot and now that bullet journaling and writing short stories are super popular right now. It boosts creativity and it also relieves stress. I literally write everything down. With the amount of stationary I own...it is super easy. From to-do's, to planning out my whole week. This is one of the best moments to put down your phone and write everything.

Write down your goals as well...it makes it easier to complete daily goals or monthly goals as well.

Well there you guys have it. These are some steps I will start implementing starting from today ( It is currently 11:21am and I haven't eaten breakfast but I will make a smoothie and finish cleaning ). Maybe I will start living a happier life tomorrow morning.

Okay, I have a walk-in wardrobe but the thing is...I tend to forget everything that I own because of the clutter. I have gotten to the point where I am saying...I have to much shit. I normally say something like this when I am moving and I think to myself... ' how did I accumulate this much crap '? Where did it all come from and did I really NEED all of it? The answer was of course no. I didn't need 40 pairs of denim when I only wore a solid 10 of them...I just wanted them. I didn't need 80 pairs of shoes when I honestly forgot which pairs I own ... end up buying more then just letting them pile up. It was sad...it IS sad. I am ready to declutter and have a clean minimal wardrobe. Something that makes packing easier as well.

So, I wanted to share 5 tips to creating a capsule wardrobe for anyone who is interested and is in dire need of one cause I know I am.

1. Create a colour palette.

- This is extremely easy. What colours do you gravitate more towards? I find that having a colour theme in your wardrobe helps the most. It also helps with packing as well. Super simple and it literally takes no time at all. Knowing your aesthetic as I like to call it ( along with everyone & their Mum's ) is beneficial. Are you a minimalist? Do you wear bold colours? Prints? All of the above? What is your day-day casual look? This all plays into creating your capsule wardrobe. The point of this method is be super practical and honest about what you’ll actually get the most wear out of ( like what I said earlier about owning like 40+ pairs of jeans ). Once you’ve selected a theme ( mine is minimalism ), carefully pick out which pieces work well with one another. Try to limit yourself to 15-30 items including pants, tops, skirts, shorts, dresses and shoes. Which will be hard believe me but that dress hiding in the back of your wardrobe with the tag still on that you've had since 2011...you will never wear it.

2. Store Out Of Season Away.

- This is super important! I normally just keep every season together all year around and this is probably why I struggle with finding certain items. Since I will be creating a capsule wardrobe from what I already own. I will be taking EVERYTHING out of my wardrobe and sorting them into piles. Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring. This is going to be my project for the weekend. Bye bye Winter padded jackets that are taking up so much space!

3. Group Similar Items Together.

- Now that your capsule wardrobe is getting along the way. Now is the time to start grouping similar items together. For example hanging all of your coats together, dresses, tops, etc.

4. Use All Of Your Space.

- If you guys see my wardrobe right now you would probably cry. I literally shoved so much shit in there...I have NO space for anything else and this is even after my wardrobe purge. This also helps if all of your hangers are the same. I love the velvet hangers because your clothing doesn't fall off and stays in place. You can get them from Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and even Burlington. Utilize your dressers and drawers as well. I have a self unit from Target that I dislike and I am itching to get my hands on a new one.

5. If You See It You WILL Wear It.

- This definitely ties into what I was saying the the beginning of this blog post. I literally forget about everything that I own in my wardrobe and I only find it when I am doing wardrobe purges. Which is seriously annoying because I end up purchasing something similar. It is a never ending cycle that I am trying to break.

I would also recommend storing folded items as follows: most-used items at eye level ( favourite tee's, etc ), less-used items towards the lower shelves ( things you wear at home ), and least-used items higher up ( for me this would be considered my bags ).

I am going to bring you guys along my Capsule Wardrobe journey. I personally think that this is going to be such a fun project to share with you all.

Oh my goodness! I seriously cannot believe that we are in July already! Where has the time gone? Weren't we just complaining that January was to long of a month? Not me I never complain because that is my birthday month and well I love to celebrate.

I am currently sitting at my desk..writing out so many blog posts for you guys because I feel bad that I have been neglecting my blog readers again. To be honest right now whilst I am writing this I am also masking it up. Whenever I feel the need to sit down and write things out for you guys...I stop what I am doing and just let my fingers take over. Now only if it was this easy for Flatlays. I have been kinda stuck when it comes to creating new flatlays for you lovelies on Instagram. Which is where the much needed vacation comes into play.

Last month one of my lovely readers sent me a DM on instagram pointing out that I only wrote 1 Beauty Tuesdays post and you guys were not happy about that at all. So, whilst some of you guys now know what I was going through mentally. I realised that writing kept me sane and this was something that I loved doing so why didn't I just neglect my instagram instead and focused more on my blog and my writing?

So, that's what I am going to do. I cannot guarantee a new blog post everyday ( let's be real now ) as much as I would love to write one everyday. I sure as heck wont know what to write about but maybe could be a challenge soon?

This blog post will be about a brand called BLISS! I actually worked with Bliss once and I loved their products and now we just have this amazing relationship! They surprise me all the time when they come out with new products and of course I always unbox their packages on my instagram stories and you guys seem to love them as much as I do!

I recently received 2 new packages from them introducing some of their new products. Let's start with Face before moving onto Body. This isn't the first time that I have used Bliss Beauty Products but this will the first time writing a detailed review on them.

I have tried their Lemon + Sage Body Butter ( which I ran out of but they changed their packaging and sent me a new one ). Their Softening Socks, Ingrown Pads( which are a lifesaver if you shave ) and their Mask & Peel ( which wasn't my fav but my Mum loved them ).

I currently have their Pore Patrol Clay Mask, Mighty Marshmallow Mask, Lemon & Sage BodyButter & Grapefruit & Aloe Body Butter. These are the items I will be reviewing in this post. Remember in the beginning of this post when I said I was currently wearing a mask on my face whilst writing this post? I am currently using their Mighty Marshmallow Mask. So, since I have this one on right now....it only makes sense to start with this one right?

I normally would do a Pro & Con list but since I don't really have any Cons about this product other than the size but with this product...a little goes a long way. It's also very affordable. I use a mixture of Bliss and Saturday Skin & my skin literally glows. My skin looks so good to the point where I don't even need to wear makeup. I even had makeup artists tell me that I didn't need to wear any makeup but alas I still wear the occasional makeup when I am shooting for the blog or instagram.

A quick description about the Mighty Marshmallow Mask:

  • This airy whipped mask – with a brightening boost of marshmallow root extract – delivers a surge of hydration to instantly reveal a new luminosity.

  • Revives dull, lackluster skin and delivers a fresh, “lit from within” glow

  • Visibly smooths uneven skin tone and discoloration

  • Hypoallergenic & dermatologist tested

Next I will talk about the Pore Patrol which is a Deep Detox Clay Mask. When I first used this mask...I was a little surprised. Firstly being the packaging. Normally my Clay Masks are in little jars but this was like a mousse. I thought it was pretty cool and it is lightweight and smells amazing. It's about 57ml and it costs less than $20 which is another win in my book.

A quick description about the Pore Patrol Deep Detox Clay Mask:

  • This silky soufflĂ© mask, aerated with a combination of powerful clays, deeply cleanses skin and minimizes the look of pores, without leaving it dry or tight.

  • French green and Kaolin micro-clays combine with willow bark to detoxify and declog pores

  • Bentonite clay keeps oil in check; glycolic acid gently exfoliates to make sure pores don’t clog up later

  • Hypoallergenic & dermatologist tested

I have actually been using this Lemon & Sage Body Butter for awhile now & I was so sad when it finished but thankfully I was able to get my hand on another one. It's like they knew that I needed one & was like yes let us send her one but they also sent me their Grapefruit & Aloe Body Butter which if I had to pick between the 2 it would be the Grapefuit & Aloe. Oh my goodness that one smells like a walk on the beach with a fruit smoothie.

Overall I literally love Bliss products. This is one brand that I be using forever! My skin in this heat has never been more moisturized! Definitely a must have for these harsh humid days!

10/10 plus you can find some Bliss products in Target for a fraction of the cost! Which is even better!

Happy Monday lovelies.

I am currently sitting at my desk writing this & trying to come up with a new flatlay idea for some posts that I need to be working on. Yet, here I am. Lost. Not knowing what to create. I think I am burnt out for ideas and I am in desperate need for a vacation to clear my mind. I feel like once I have a break then everything will be coming back to me full force.

In a way that's how I feel when I go to new Coffee Shop locations. To me each one gives off a certain vibe & I feed off of that vibe.

So, for instance I recently met up with my instababe Nicole. It was so ironically funny how we FIRST met but we decided to meet up ( for the first time after being instagram friends ) and we visited Swings Coffee. Someone actually recommended this place to me because it matched my aesthetic and it did when I visited. The location is small but big enough and where it's located...they most likely have a high turn over rate. So, not alot of people actually buy their coffee and sit. Which isn't bad.

The only thing that I actually disliked was the pricing. I spent over $5 for a Iced Vanilla Soy Latte. They didn't have Caramel but I am pretty sure from the final price...I paid for the Vanilla syrup and I definitely paid extra for Soy Milk. That is one thing that I do not like when I am purchasing coffee. That they are charging you for Soy Milk. Which sucks for people like me who are lactose intolerant.

I think that I will be visiting this Coffee Shop again to take in the whole feel of it. Nicole and I weren't there that long but other than the price...maybe I could look past it because the coffee was actually really good for almost $6. I also want to thank Nicole for letting me use her latte and her phone for this shot.

Hello from the comforts of my bed. I am currently watching Netflix and munching on some chocolate. Even though I know that I should cut out the sweets and hit the gym. Alas I am doing the complete opposite. Sigh. I wish that I was sipping on a nice Iced Caramel Soy Latte but seeing as though I am was home all day... I will get some tomorrow. I wanted to write this blog post to kinda give you guys a bit of an life update ( as if the title of this post didn't give it away ).

1. For the past couple of months I have actually been working on Films, Commercials and TV segments. It has been very time consuming but fun non the less. This is actually something that I never thought I would be dipping my toes in but it is quite enjoyable. I have also met some amazing people in this field as well.

2. I did take a step back from blogging this month. I think it kinda went downhill after I came back from San Diego. That whole trip just put me in a while funk which messed up my vibe. Plus coming back and hopping right into filming kinda just messed up my whole schedule.

3. I have been having some really bad stomach issues lately and because now since I don't have insurance ( I am passed the age of being on my Mum's ) I am trying to best to not let anything stress me out and I have actually started really standing up for myself. I don't want anymore flare ups & random fevers. I am over it.

4. I have come to terms that Social Media isn't my life. I think this stems from me currently being unhappy and I cannot pretend to be happy anymore. My content have been complete shit lately ( at least to me ) from when I first started. Everything is so different now. Who knows when my love for it will come back.

5. I am itching to travel and get away. I really want to disconnect from reality and just live in the moment. No phone, no social media and no internet. I don't mind sharing after I return but I think that will be the best for my health.

Well there you guys have it. A quick little life update. Things will get better in the next couple of months. I am turning my life around and the first thing that is going to change is my diet. Being unhappy brought on eating nothing but junk food and sugary snacks. If anyone have any tips let me know!
